Accept Pay?? Amex? Huh?

So I guess at some point this year American Express came out with an online payment gateway, Accept Pay. From what I can see it looks like it kicks the crap out of pay pal – direct invoicing and receiving funds same day. Why wasn’t I told about this?

I did a little bit of hunting and there aren’t any press releases on the net or on Amex’s main page that I can see; Anyone here using it / have any insight into it?

Thank you for your interest in AcceptPay.

From the information you provided, it appears that we are unable to help you at this time.

I'm already turned off. Can't even tell me what's wrong? All I provided was my name and type of business… I'm glad they're unable to help me at this time because I'd hate to find out later what a bunch of incompetents they seem to be.

Update: I just got an email thanking me for signing up like nothing was wrong. I quickly added it to my spam filter. I don't need another backwards service provider that apparently never bothered to test their sign up system.

My sister works for American Express in Brighton, England and knows nothing about it.

Make of that what you will.

Is it just for the USA?

Its just Amex put the Amex brand on a company called PaySimple. Service has nothing to do with Amex. Its a better service then paypal, but the software is very buggy and support not the Amex standard :( Had reported so many bugs but never received any credit for my problems…
I wish Amex would check the system & quality first before promoting it with the Amex brand on it…

AcceptPay is a scam… they present themselves as the complete solution but they are not … their systems is not seamless and they contract the merchant separately … they offer a lot and deliver little … in my case a $5 Starbucks card as a thank you … they are holding over $3000 of my money for 180 days … TERRIBLE

I’ve used Accept Pay for my business invoicing for over a year now and it works great for me. My clients love it too. It is simple to use and the invoices look really sleek and professional. I use it mainly for accepting ACH payments which are pain in the neck to try to do without a system like this. I actually cancelled the credit card processing part on my account and just use it for invoicing and ACH payments. No complaints to speak of and the customer service is second to none, very helpful and polite, not outsourced.
