Amung Us — Checking Out a New Stats Package…

I’ve been using a little widget on the sidebar of my blog from Amung Us for quite some time that shows the number of visitors currently on the blog. It’s kinda cool.
The map above is a new (to me) Amung Us feature that shows where previous visitors have come from. It also updates in real time, and the little flashing stars are for the folks currently on the site. They have a smaller version suitable for a sidebar as well. I currently use ClustrMaps in my sidebar and might replace it with this one as ClustrMaps only updates occasionally. (NOTE: The map above is an image. I can’t seem to get the EMBED tag to work here yet. You can see a live version here.)
UPDATE: See this comment from the ClustrMap team for a better explanation of their product.
Amung Us also has a real time graphing widget, but they are temporarily offline.
