I go to WWU in Bellingham for school as well. And I work in Seattle. There is constant 3G in-between. I ended up returning the Microcell after a couple of weeks.  Five bars apparently means nothing.  I have a super-fast cable internet connection and never had issues with internet connectivity while the calls were dropping.  The guys at the AT&T store recently told me that they are not having much success with it, lots of people are returning the Microcell.  That’s a different story than I was told when I was buying it.
 
Time for Verizon and the iPhone.  Sorry, AT&T, I tried to make it work.
