RE BarCamp – Pasadena

by Denny Oh on 11:38 am April 8, 2009

Last week, I drove up to Pasadena, Ca, to attend my first RE BarCamp.  For those of you who don’t know, RE BarCamp is a “FREE Social Media Marketing event based on BarCamp.org principals.“  Basically, people from the RE community(Realtors, vendors, developers, etc) attend these camps and learn about new products and services that are related to real estate.  This particular camp focused on Social Media – Twitter, LinkedIn, video blogging, SEO tips, etc. Since it was my first BarCamp, I can’t compare it to anything … Read More »

Read, or get Read to

by Denny Oh on 5:08 pm December 5, 2008

I recently came across a product that automatically converts your blog posts into audio files.  All you have to do is download this WordPress plugin and upload it to your site.  The process took me about 5 minutes and it’s pretty cool. There are several companies that do this, but I’ve only tried Odiogo. There are a few things that I really like about this plugin… 1. It’s free. 2. It’s easy to use.  Once you install the plugin, you’re done.  It automatically sets up and you don’t have to do anything again. … Read More »

Foreclosure Radar Update

by Denny Oh on 10:50 am April 25, 2008

Sean O’Toole and the guys at ForeclosureRadar.com were nice enough to let me try out their new product, Foreclosure Listing Exchange(FLX). I’ve had it on my site for about 2 weeks now and I’m beginning to get a good amount of activity on it now. At first, I only posted a blog about my new service and added a “Foreclosure” tab to my nav bar.  This unfortunately, didn’t do much at all.  SanDiegOh.com averages about 80 visitors a day and I quickly realized that this … Read More »

Foreclosure Radar

by Denny Oh on 1:41 pm April 9, 2008

As the market has shifted and distressed sellers are more plentiful, a variety of companies are trying to help home buyers and Realtors keep up to speed.  In response to the increase in foreclosures and short sales, Sean O’Toole founded a company called Foreclosure Radar.  Foreclosure Radar allows home buyers to track every foreclosure in California, accurately and easily.  Yesterday, April 8th, 2008, the company release a new product called Foreclosure Listing Exchange (FLX).  This service allows users to search for homes that are bank owned, … Read More »

Blogging is Like Dating

by Denny Oh on 5:49 pm March 19, 2008

Without any introduction, here’s what I mean…. 1. Hard to Get The method in which one pretends not to be interested, or at least less interested in the other person, as they really are.  Actions related to this method may include, but are not limited to: not calling someone who’s number you got for several days, letting the other person acknowledge your presence before you acknowledge them, maintaining limited communication with the other person and not showing too much interest. Pros: If the other person … Read More »

4 Year Salesperon Renewal

by Denny Oh on 4:14 pm February 26, 2008

Hey everyone, here’s a quick reminder for you Realtors.  If you’re due for your 4 year Salesperson license renewal, get it taken care of.  My office, Prudential, requires 7 days to process the paperwork.  They also prefer us not to renew it online, especially if you’re cutting it close to the expiration date. And if it’s your first 4 year renewal, then make sure you take the new required 3 hour Risk Management course.  Any first time 4 year renewal, as of July 2007, is … Read More »

Denny Oh: “I AM a good blogger!”

by Denny Oh on 1:58 am February 20, 2008

I’ve been in real estate for about 4 years now and am always looking for new ideas on how to improve…learning new marketing strategies, better ways to stay in touch with clients, how to structure my time, etc.  When I first started out, I was in my office’s mentoring program for about 6 months and then shortly after that, I joined a top ranking team and continued to gain valuable training.  Along the way, I’ve also attended several of the ever popular Tom Ferry, Brian … Read More »

PdaNet for Treos

by Denny Oh on 11:58 pm January 22, 2008

As a Realtor, I like many of you, am on the run a lot and don’t always have the luxury of being at my office. And in a time where a 5 minute response time is 5 minutes too long, I depend on my phone and my laptop. And while we all have problems with technology, the fact is, we can’t live without it. What would you do if you had no cell phone? Forget the PDA functions, I mean just the capability of sending … Read More »

Treo 700 and Cell Phone Company Tips

by Denny Oh on 9:32 pm January 17, 2008

I recently came across a blog that Lani Anglin, of R.E. Revealed, posted and I know we can all relate to it. Lani wrote about an experience she had with her cell phone and Sprint’s customer support – rather, lack of support. As I read it, I immediately grew tense and thought about the battle I’ve had with Verizon over that last decade or so and wanted to share my tips. My most recent problem with Verizon came when my Treo 700p started randomly resetting … Read More »
