In short, I think embedding Google Street View imagery into a single property website is a great idea. Zoltan at RealBird has a writeup that shows how to embed street view imagery into a RealBird single property site.

Or you can use MyMarketWare to integrate “Bird’s Eye View” imagery from Pictometry.

    Good find Drew.

Given the Superbowl Rental Property of my acquaintance, Drew. D in my last post…he gave it a try…tweaking the process a bit per vendor he used.

Result, goto http://www.PhoenixEventHome.com and click on “Street View Intersection” in the navigation.

What’s interesting about Drew D.’s scenario is not wanting to advertise his home address…rather the closest major intersection. Google Maps are very conducive to street intersections (important for Drew D to show proximity to Stadium). Street View appears to grab closest fixed street address to the intersection and start the view from there. Yahoo Maps, Microsoft Earth can be troublesome w/out a fixed street address.

Thanks for the link love, Drew !

I can’t wait until Google comes out with an API for the Street View imagery. I guess they are holding on so that they can release something more than obvious.

How about the ability to add hotspots and points of interest to the actual Street View imagery (besides integrating the view). As users “walk” around in the Street View Flash app, the custom markers would appear with the ability to click on them and bring up more info, flash multimedia and interactions. Maybe projected in 3D. Something like this would make extremely useful mashups, real estate agents and portals like Zillow could put together complete VR neighborhood guides, one could redraw the billboards on the roads with online ads, clicking on the window of a house would start playing the virtual tour and there could even be multi-user games developed on this platform. I bet and hope something bigger is cooking than just the regular API access.

I’m debating on using a Single Property Site for a new luxury listing that I have. I wonder if luxury sellers would get upset or if I have to create a completely custom site.
