Google’s Real Estate Strategy
By Drew Meyers | September 19, 2007
The latest edition of Inman TV is definitely an interesting one given that it involves Google — anytime Google does anything, people usually take note given the scale that they operate at and the vast user base that they reach. Joel Burslem of Inman News speaks with Justin McCarthy, the Strategic Partner Development Manager of Real Estate for Google. Justin gives a good overview of Google Base and the strategy behind it.

I like Google, but I’m just not sure about this whole thing of making all MLS content a public forum. I know some sellers want all the exposure they can get, but It can be a good thing to have a Realtor who can set up the appointment to show the house rather than people just showing up at all hours of the day to see the house. Sometimes it also makes sense on a safety level as well.
