By now, you’ve probably figured out my interest in SEO. Anyway, Rand Fishkin of SEOmoz has a great post explaining his thoughts on how Google’s rankings have changed over the past few years.

I’d highly recommend heading over to read the whole post.

Thanks Drew! Looks like their putting a lot more weight on trust of domain according to this chart. I wonder how much more weight they are putting on the bounce rate and # page views a site gets since a lot of sites are now using their analytics. That would be interesting to know. I’ll have to check out what Rand has to say.

Google is definately serving up better results as they evolve.

That seems to be pretty accurate from what I have seen. The Rand at SEOmoz are pretty sharp, so I would put a fair amount of fair into his estimation. I am glad that I purchased and developed my domain 6 years ago, as it is paying back in traffic now.

Rand Fishkin review is really great, I agree. However, in the article he doesn’t expand much on Trust and Authority that are becoming major factors in ranking.

I would also recommend watching Rand’s video on Trust and Authority (just search google, it’s easy to find) from last Firday – plenty of useful thoughts in quite a simple language.

    Regards,
    Andrew
