There’s a fantastic article over on Search Engine Journal worth reading. The topic? How to Build an Authority Site from Scratch. For those of you who follow this blog closely, you probably noticed the post the other day about how Google’s algorithms have changed over the past few years — and you probably noticed “authority” is the factor that is moving up in terms of importance to ranking well in Google. I’d highly recommend heading over and reading the whole article, especially if you are relatively new to figuring out how to go about optimizing your website for search engines.

Drew,
The article is solid. It certainly gave me some new info on SEO, like these do-follow and no-follow aspects on backlinks. Have to look into that some more.

Great article! Especially because it stresses the importance of a good domain. This is often underestimated. And once you’ve started promoting the domain it’s too late to go back one step and purchase a different domain.
