Youtube Usage 2008

WeeklySEO clued me into a a PDF from Google for 2008 that provides some recent stats about YouTube usuage. It is full of really interesting and detailed information about JUST HOW MUCH YouTube has grown and how much use it is getting. Specific to why you should use video tours, if you review the stats of Youtube users, you can tell that real estate’s prime target ages are actually online in greater numbers than teenagers! This gives Realtors a better idea of who is using video on a consistent basis. In my mind, the PDF is required reading for those looking to understand the potential of video!

This is a great chart that shows why we should be integrating video into real estate websites and really any website when it comes down to it. YouTube may have started off just for teenagers for fun but this chart shows otherwise and of course being owned by Google doesn’t hurt.

I made sure to stumble this post and hope more come and see the benefits of video.

    Howdy Joseph,

I was myself really surprised at the amount of Youtube users who are in an older demographic. http://footinmouthdisease.net/2008/08/08/youtube-users-are-not-poor-teenagers/ Here’s another post that shows Youtube demographics that will surprise you: 27% of Youtube Users make more than $74,000 annually!

Wow, I didn’t think that youtube had such a varied audience…It just might be time for me to start investing effort into video projects.
