The folks at Onboard have been busy — they just released version 0.9 of their Lifestyle Listings Engine API that I wrote about back in January. Looks like lots of cool features were added, including the ability to search based on school performance, distance to amenities, and getting additional content of interest relating to a specific listing.

As a total side note, I think this is the first time I’ve ever given a hat tip to Twitter as my source for a blog post. The Onboard Blog is in my feed reader, but I’m increasingly finding that twitter is taking the place of some of my feedreader as the source of which places I visit on the web. This digital world is changing quickly — I wonder how many reporters are using it to find stories?

I think twitter has almost completely replaced my reader

Glad you liked it. I have been thinking the same thing lately. I have a newsreader choc full of great (and I mean GREAT) feeds; the Zillow blog being one of them. I find myself however getting my best new and real time stuff on Twitter.
I think that everyone uses it for their own purposes. I use it for:
-Keeping up with friends, family, and business folks
-Syndication of what I deem to be interesting/important things – web or otherwise
-A source of great research – business AND life
To be honest, I really get alot of good (and productive) use out of it. I have a hard time remembering what life was like without it

It would be interesting to see how many news stories are found on Twitter-I wonder how you could go about figuring that out..

This sounds like a really great search engine to help parents find a home in an area that has acceptable scholls and other amenities. Would love to see it on a real website.
