Atlanta's Best Sunday Brunch

What is better than starting a Sunday in Atlanta with a scrumptious meal? Not much. In this southern city there is a wide variety of delicious eateries to please any brunch-craving palette. Southern specialties abound (you are in Atlanta, after all). There are also comfort food havens - about as close as you’ll get to Mom’s cooking without actually going home. Just make sure to have coffee before leaving the house; Sunday brunch is a popular meal in Atlanta and getting a table can take a while. Don’t worry though – brunch in Atlanta is more than worth the wait.

Atlanta's Best Tacos

Tacos may not be the first meal that comes to mind when you think of the South, but Atlanta has a fare share of delicious taquerias that should not be missed. From fish and chicken to vegetarian options, tacos are a must-try meal on a visit to this bustling urban city. Here are a few noteworthy spots to check out and don't forget to wash down some chips and salsa or a margarita in the process.

First Time in Atlanta

A bustling urban oasis in the heart of the Southeast, Atlanta mixes southern hospitality with urban splendor. Situated in the northern part of Georgia, Atlanta is well known for its airport and as the headquarters of large corporations, such as The Coca-Cola Co. and The Home Depot. While Atlanta is a sprawling city, it is also just 45 minutes away from the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and other natural delights, giving visitors the option of trees and rolling hills or high rises. Whether you're staying downtown or venturing out, it is easiest to get around by car or taxi, but be warned that traffic in Atlanta can get ugly at rush hour. There is also the option of using the MARTA trains which run south from the airport to the northern suburbs. While the weather remains mild most of the year, there is nothing like the early fall and spring when the city comes alive with outdoor festivals and concerts. Throughout the year Atlanta offers several worthwhile attractions as well as top-notch restaurants, nightlife and entertainment. A playground for celebrities, Atlanta is also well-known for the hip hop artists and actors that call it home. You may even bump into one at the Saturday night hot spot or at Sunday brunch.

Historical Atlanta

Originally known as a settlement named Terminus for the railroad that ran through it, Atlanta became an important railroad and military hub during the Civil War. Today it is a fast growing metropolis with more than 5 million residents, but remnants of its historical past still remain. From the enormous bas-relief carving at Stone Mountain to the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield, there are a number of attractions that bring alive Georgia's historical past for all to see. Here are a few spots that should not be missed.

Atlanta Outdoor Adventures

Although Atlanta is known to be a bustling urban oasis in the heart of the Southeast, the city offers a variety of outdoor activities to enjoy. From the hiking trails and water sports at area nature preserves to the city parks and gardens near downtown, their is a nyriad of attractions to chose from that will keep you outdoors and breathing fresh air. So when the hustle and bustle of the big city becomes too much to bare, put on your sneakers and enjoy nature.
