Thank you for inviting me over for a visit, Drew. It was a pleasure to hang with the geeky boys (and girl) this morning. And Jay, thank you for the sticky!

As a footnote, the true value of social networking and the approach to harnessing that value is largely dependent on your specialty, I think. For Drew and the Zillow team, for blog builders, for providers of agent marketing tools and the like, the audience is much different than for the agent in the trenches. The online world is really a whole food chain of opportunity, with agents providing the ultimate link to the consumer. Using social media to make this final, essential connection is perhaps the most difficult challenge. I believe most of us who have been at it for awhile can admit to some success, but our online presence is still but a small component of our overall business plan and the resulting success but a small component of our business.

I am a bit overwhelmed myself with social networks and media. Which one will really break out and provide value equal to the time it takes to stay current?

We as early adopters are doing a lot of work for frankly small returns so far.

What a fabulous post. Imagine that, Kris Berg writing a fabulous post...

I loved the, "They are not leads; they are potential employers, and this is my resume" line the first time I read it. I love it even more now.

It's going on a coveted yellow sticky. (That's a BIG deal. trust me).
