How do we post without showing the date? Would like to show our posts in Google, Yahoo, Bing, without a date assigned. Any Advantage or Disadvantage?

Hey Ric-
Pretty much all “posts” have dates on them — mainly due to fact that they are often time sensitive and you WANT people to know when they are written.

If you have content you want to display without the date, why not input that into a page on your site instead of a post?

In terms of a more technical answer to your solution – with a full custom site, it would be possible to not display the date on some or all of your posts. But it’s not something we can support on a predesigned site since 99% of the time — people want the date of a post to be very obvious.

Ric,

With regards to posts there would be a major disadvantage when it comes to search engine optimization.

Search engines regard blog content (posts) as news and pages as general content. News gets indexed and displayed much faster as it’s time-sensitive.

Therefore, WordPress Posts get indexed much faster than Pages (as a general note).
