Attempted to send an imbed youtube video via posterous…. On my site, no go. I went to the post and clicked the youtube imbed button and pasted the url… no dice… any ideas?

I’m looking at this page on your site – http://jasonrichards.virtualresults.net/wp-admin/post.php?post=512&action=edit

I see the following embed code:

[youtube]http://youtu.be/cTq-UnwLPRk[/youtube]

The youtube url is not the full youtube url. You’ll see if you put that url (http://youtu.be/cTq-UnwLPRk) into your address bar, it redirects you to the full youtube URL — http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTq-UnwLPRk

Put that full url into the embed..

That works for the you tube imbed button on the site but it still does not work from posterous.. I sent an email to blog@posterous.com with the expanded you tube url but no dice. is there a special way to do this?

I’m not sure. I don’t use posterous for video myself.

Anyone else know?

I checked out your posterous blog and all the videos seem to be appearing there fine for my viewing pleasure.

The way i usually post videos in posterous is I will select the small “html” whysiwhg , put the embed code in the “raw” html space, and then view normally and you should see your video embedded in the post. Hope this helps!
