Put Your Photo on LinkedIn

By Drew Meyers | September 27, 2007

Since many real estate professionals use LinkedIn to network and farm for new clients, I thought it was worth mentioning that TechCrunch is reporting that LinkedIn is planning to allow individuals to upload photos of themselves starting Friday (tomorrow). I do find it odd that almost every single social networking site has had profile photos since they began, yet it took LinkedIn 4 years to figure out the value of profile photos. Individuals don’t just want to read text, they want to see photos; they want to associate a face with a name.

Since personal branding is absolutely crucial to your success as a real estate professional, I’d make sure to upload a photo as soon as possible so that people who happen upon your profile will start to recognize your face — the more free personal branding, the better.
