Quick Tip - Converting .wmv to .wmp (Necessary to Upload a Video to Realtor.com)
By Drew Meyers | August 16, 2007
Update: My friend Dustin Luther, who works for Move, has chimed in both on the original thread and commented on this post — Realtor.com DOES support .wmv files. Sorry for the confusion.
Relating to using video to market yourself or your listings, I came across this great tip from Lorraine Dierkes in this thread on Zillow Discussions that I thought worthy of sharing –
For anyone who’s uploaded videos to realtor.com … The only Windows Media format it supports is .wmp, NOT .wmv. But if you have .wmv, there is a program called WinAVI converter that will convert your .wmv files to .mpg (which is also a format supported by realtor.com).
So, if you have a .wmv file that you’d like to upload to Realtor.com, one option to convert the file is the WinAVI converter for $29.95.

I just want to correct the information presented in this post… You can upload WMV files (versions 7, 8, 9, and 10) directly using the Realtor.com video uploader. I’m not sure why Lorraine was having issues, but I’ll follow up with her to find out!
