google reader clip I was a late comer to the blogging party. About a year and a half ago, I found Active Rain and first discovered purposeful blogging. This was around the same time that most traditionalists were discounting this phenomenon as just a fad for ‘youngins” looking to waste some time on the Internet. And I must admit, that when you get started, it is pretty difficult to see the big picture of how writing blog posts can produce real results, both financial and otherwise.

But as I started to look deeper, below the surface, I started noticing the sense of community that existed between bloggers. There was a different way of looking at things. Professionals were open to sharing their experiences as opposed to keeping “trade secrets”, and somehow, everyone was bettering themselves through it. Unlike other types of publications (newspapers, books etc.), bloggers success was not dependent on some omnipotent editor or publisher that decided which projects “deserved” attention. Bloggers self perpetuated, by discussing common issues and driving traffic to each others “storefronts” by inter linking. And everyone benefited and grew as these articles became conversations and these individuals became communities.

I have decided to post a clip of my favorite articles in my Google Feed Reader into my blog because I think these ideas and discussions would help my readers and make their experience within my blog more complete.

Self perpetuation is a beautiful thing! For this reason, I invite you to do the same. Post a clip of your shared items into your blogs and help the overall blogging community grow.
