WordPress 3.0 is Getting Closer – Release Candidate 1 Is Available

It was just announced that WordPress 3.0 Release Candidate 1 is now available for download. I’ve been anxiously awaiting WordPress 3.0 for awhile due to the possibilities it will enable for real estate sites and it’s nice to see that they are nearing completion of the final release version.

    That's sounds like exciting news. I'm eager to install and update to 3.0 too. Is your blog on 3.0 now or are you just running a beta version?

      Nope, my blog is not yet on 3.0. I'm going to wait for the final version to come out before I upgrade my personal blog – especially since I don't plan on using the multiple blog functionality on my domain. But I'm sure there will be some real estate examples of WordPress sites on 3.0 soon.

    Looking forward to the multi-user aspect of WordPress 3.0 I have a website that could make good use of a platform that can support as much content as I need to post.

    I’ve been running this site on WordPress 3.0 for several days now (it was still alpha when I switched, and it hit beta-1 status on Friday night). Despite all the cool new stuff available in the new version, you probably won’t see much different when you upgrade. The most obvious changes that you might see in the admin area are that “Updates” moved from under “Tools” to under the “Dashboard” menu, there’s a new “Menus” item under the “Appearance” menu, and you might see upgrade notices for themes now, depending on the themes you have installed. Additionally, there’s a new default theme.

    Me and a co-worker were talking about the release of wordpress 3 this morning. We believe the merging of WPMU will help everyone abroad..

    WordPress is maturing, becoming more of a CMS rather than just a blogging platform – exciting times! New features, new default theme…I cannot wait!
